The new training building unites the training facilities of all departments of the Austrian Airlines Group under one roof. At the heart of the building is an atrium with communal and circulation areas as a communicative center. The materials used and the atmosphere are intended to give AAG’s well-traveled personnel a feeling of coming home. The combination office areas are arranged around the atrium in the northern part of the building, and the training rooms in the southern part. The urban planning solution envisages the creation of a formative identity-forming campus, which can also be used as an open-air area for the café. The façade makes reference to flying as an abstracted sky, and the design of the outdoor space and atrium was inspired by landscape patterns as seen in aerial photographs.
