The original brief was to give the terrace a simple, contemporary new look…

But, while digging through some archives and historical photographs, our imagination was ignited:

We want to design a space, that can harnesses the lively athmosphere, support social gatherings and offer opportunities to linger.

The goal in the concept was to create an inclusive flow across all vertical and horizontal levels and connecting all areas with each other. The gently slanted greens draw a web of inviting grassland, connecting the entrance area with the pool area and also leading up to the terrace, which offers a panoramic view of the public bath including the waterways and sandy beaches of the danube riverbanks. A landscape of seating through concrete stairs, stones and wooden platforms offer great meeting points or spaces for contemplation, in the shade of all the newly planted trees.
